Suzanne Simpson Head of Case Management Services 

 
Suzanne Simpson is the Head of Case Management Services at UK Case Management and a registered Physiotherapist specialising in neurology. Suzanne brings a wealth of clinical expertise to her leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for clients in both pre and post settled cases. 
 
Before taking on her current role, Suzanne served as a Clinical Case Manager at UK Case Management and spent over a decade in private practice, focusing on the rehabilitation of adults with neurological conditions. Her areas of special interest include stroke rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, severe complex disabilities, and palliative care. 
 
Committed to professional development and excellence, Suzanne is a former committee member and chairperson of the North Eastern branch of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN). She is also an active member of the British Association of Brain Injury and Complex Case Management (BABICM), regularly attending specialist courses and lectures to deepen her expertise and deliver evidence-based, client-centred care.

Jess Wise Registered Case Manager 

 
Jess joined UK Case Management in January 2021, bringing with her a strong background in psychology and extensive experience across both private and statutory community services. With a wealth of knowledge in the brain injury field, Jess specialises in working with large multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), coordinating Support Worker packages, and addressing the complex intersection of sex and brain injury. 
 
More recently, Jess has broadened her expertise through dedicated work with Thalidomide clients, further demonstrating her adaptability and commitment to client-centred care. Jess is known for her empathy, compassion, and unwavering focus on her clients’ best interests. She excels at navigating challenging family and team dynamics, always striving to foster positive and productive relationships. Her ability to connect with both clients and therapists is widely recognised, and she is often praised for going above and beyond in her role.

Nicola Sawyer-Roskell Registered Case Manager 

 
Nicola Sawyer-Roskell is an experienced Case Manager and NMC Registered Adult Nurse, bringing over 25 years of nursing expertise across a wide range of clinical and community settings. Her career has taken her from neonatal units and schools to clinics, client homes, and most recently, to cancer research at the University of York. 
 
Throughout her career, Nicola has developed specialist expertise in supporting adults with brain and catastrophic injuries, as well as infants who have sustained birth injuries. She holds a BSc in Nursing Practice and Public Health, reflecting her commitment to holistic, evidence-based care. 
 
Nicola has contributed to published research on recovery and rehabilitation following brain injury and continues to dedicate her time to this field by volunteering with Headway, a leading charity supporting individuals affected by brain injury. Her passion for rehabilitation and recovery is further evidenced by her proud membership in the British Association of Brain Injury and Complex Case Management (BABICM).

Cat Wilkinson Registered Case Manager 

 
Cat brings over 15 years of specialist experience supporting individuals with brain injuries, neurodiversity, and complex needs. Her work spans across clinical, custodial, and community settings, equipping her with a deep understanding of the challenges her clients and their families face. 
 
Cat has in depth case management experience, including supporting clients through Welfare Court cases and managing cases in collaboration with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), with a strong background in Personal Health Budgets (PHB) and Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding processes. She currently manages large multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and coordinates comprehensive Support Worker packages to meet her clients' unique rehabilitation needs. 
 
With eight years of experience as an Advanced Substance Misuse Practitioner within the prison service, Cat specialises in working with individuals with a history of substance misuse, young offenders, and those living with the complex interplay of brain injury and dual diagnoses. She was previously the Rehabilitation Lead, advocating passionately to secure appropriate funding and placements for clients with high-risk, high-needs profiles. 
 
Cat's experience includes working within specialist neurorehabilitation hospitals and medium secure settings, strengthening her skills in safeguarding, counselling, and motivational interviewing to provide highly tailored, person-centred support. 
 
Academically, Cat holds a Master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, contributing to published research in the Psychonomic Bulletin & Review in 2014 on the N400 effect, alongside a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Criminology.

Lee Mortimer Case Manager 

 
Lee is an experienced and compassionate Case Manager, bringing over 15 years of hands-on expertise in supporting individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries, Visual Impairment, Spinal Injuries, and Functional Neurological Disorders. With a strong background in assistive technologies and a client-centered approach, Lee is committed to empowering individuals to achieve meaningful progress and independence. 
 
Having transitioned from a successful career as an Advanced Rehabilitation Assistant, Lee has a wealth of experience delivering tailored rehabilitation programs in diverse environments—including mainstream and special schools, private homes, and care institutions. He has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, to implement effective, goal-driven care plans. 
 
Prior to his work in rehabilitation, Lee served as a Senior Support Worker, where he led care teams with a focus on excellence and person-centered outcomes. His leadership and dedication have consistently contributed to positive client journeys and long-term success.

Andy Woodland Consultant Case Manager 

 
Andy Woodland is a Consultant Case Manager at UK Case Management and a former Registered General Nurse (RN) with over 33 years of post-registration experience. Andy’s extensive clinical background includes working in Accident and Emergency, Orthopaedic Injuries, and Coronary Care. He also spent many years in prison healthcare, where he worked to raise awareness of the high incidence of undiagnosed acquired brain injuries within the prison population. 
 
Throughout his career, Andy has worked extensively with clients living with a wide range of complex neurological conditions, including catastrophic injuries, acquired brain injuries, and spinal injuries. He is passionate about helping clients maximise their recovery and quality of life, providing specialist support to both pre-trial and post-trial clients.

Claire Appleton is the Head of Therapy Services at UK Case Management bringing over 18 years of clinical experience as a registered Occupational Therapist specialising in neurology. Her expertise spans brain injury, stroke rehabilitation, and the management of long-term neurological conditions. 
 
Before joining UK Case Management, Claire served as Head of Service at Calvert Reconnections, a specialist brain injury rehabilitation unit in Cumbria. Her career includes extensive experience in both acute and community settings, and she has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, client-centred care. 
 
In addition to her clinical expertise, Claire brings eight years of management and leadership experience gained through senior roles within both the NHS and the private sector. Her leadership style focuses on promoting excellence in rehabilitation practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring that therapy services are tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Hannah Todd Speech and Language Therapist 

 
Hannah is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with specialist expertise in complex communication needs, trauma-informed practice, and access to justice. Over the past six years, Hannah has worked extensively with some of the most vulnerable victims of crime across the North of England, facilitating effective communication in police investigations and criminal trials to promote fairness and inclusion. 
 
With a strong background in working across the lifespan, Hannah has a passion for supporting children and adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health conditions. Her approach is person-centred, rights-based, and grounded in a deep understanding of how trauma and neurodiversity affect communication. Lauren Drake Speech and Language Therapist 

 
Lauren's experiences in Speech and Language Therapy have allowed her to work extensively with individuals who have, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, neurological impairment, SEN, ASD, selective mutism phonological delay/disorder, bilingualism, stammering, DLD formally SLI, voice disorders, genetic disorders and general/specific learning disabilities and many other conditions. Lauren is regarded as a Highly Specialised Consultant Speech and Language Therapist and has a lifetimes experience of working with and managing Dyslexia, ADHD, and Dyspraxia. 
 
As a Licentiate of Trinity College London (Formally Trinity Guildhall), Lauren has excellent insights into the psychological issues surrounding communication difficulties and how everyday participation can be impacted. Lauren has spent years working in the NHS and across the private sector. She currently works privately and for two Charities, where she runs groups to support and develop the speech, language, and communication abilities of children and young adults with Down syndrome. She also acts in a consultative role providing advice to businesses and educational providers and in addition works in partnership with a Harley Street-based Speech and Language Therapy private practice. Lauren also works as a locum consultant for various organisations and NHS trusts and is a Consultant Neurological Speech and Language Therapist for Healing Touch. In her spare time, she volunteers as a charity director for the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service. 
 
Lauren is passionate about equipping others who work with individuals with Speech, Language, and Communication needs. Over the years she has trained hundreds of parents and professionals in understanding communication in order to support and develop the communication abilities of the individuals they work with. She has also supported a number of schools in re-evaluating their learning environments to create inclusive learning environments for all their students.

Rachel Short Conductive Educator 

 
Rachel qualified in Conductive Education in 2014 from the University of Wolverhampton. Her professional background involves working as a Conductive Educator at various charities and organisations delivering sessions to mainly children up to the age of 18 who have conditions of neurological origin but has delivered sessions to adults who have had strokes, spinal injuries and Parkinson’s.

Helen Buteux Occupational Therapist 

 
Helen is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with over 12 years experience specialising in Paediatrics. She has a passion for supporting young people and their families to engage in meaningful daily activities. With experience in both clinical and leadership roles Helen brings a compassionate, evidence-informed approach to her work. 
 
Helen has supported children with a wide range of needs, including cerebral palsy, developmental delays, autism, rare genetic conditions and brain injuries. 
 
Helen is a professional member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and stays up to date with current evidence and practice through regular CPD, contributes to professional publications, and enjoys sharing knowledge through in-service training.

Rebecca Parr Occupational Therapist 

 
Rebecca is a qualified Occupational Therapist with extensive experience across both the public and independent sectors. Her areas of expertise include complex needs, moving and handling, postural care, and equipment provision. She holds a Moving and Handling Train the Trainer qualification and has worked in rehabilitation settings supporting individuals with orthopaedic injuries, brain injuries, and neurological conditions.  
 
Rebecca also has significant experience in assessing care needs and advising on tailored support packages. Rebecca is excited to be working with UKCM Ltd to provide expert, person-centred solutions for clients.

Claire Miller Occupational Therapist 

 
Claire is an occupational therapist with over 30 years experience and a wealth of experience specialising in complex orthopaedics, polytrauma, upper limb rehabilitation, housing adaptations, equipment provision, moving and handling assessments and training, degenerative health conditions, home safety and end of life care at home. She delivers high-quality, person-centred assessments, rehabilitation, and adaptation solutions, working with clients of all ages to support independence following trauma, disability, or illness. 
 
Recognised for her expertise in housing needs, equipment provision, and adaptations, including independent Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) assessment, she collaborates closely with clients, their families, multi professional teams, local authorities, architects, case managers and solicitors, to develop tailored, holistic solutions. Her strengths lie in working with clients to identify solutions for both immediate and long-term needs, using coaching and condition management approaches to help clients thrive in their community, work, and leisure roles.

Emma Charnock Physiotherapist 

 
Emma trained at the University of Manchester graduating with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in 2004. She spent the first few years of her career working in junior and senior roles within general physiotherapy rotations in the NHS. It was during this time that Emma gained experience of working with children whilst on the Paediatric rotations. This was and continues to be an area she is passionate about and Emma is now a specialist in Paediatric Physiotherapy. 
 
For the last 15 years Emma has worked in Paediatrics within the NHS. This experience has allowed Emma to develop an extensive skill base in the management of children with a variety of conditions in a variety of settings including pre-school settings, mainstream schools, special schools, homes and clinics to name a few.

Harriet Lucking Dietician 

 
Harriet has almost 10 years of experience as a dietitian and has worked in a variety of specialist areas including diabetes, weight management, neurology, respiratory and frailty. She currently works as a neurorehab dietitian for Cygnet Healthcare, as well as delivering one-to-one clinics across various GP surgeries. In 2024 she was shortlisted for Clinical Nutrition Magazine's Community Health Professional of the Year, following development of a brand new Neurorehab service for Elysium Healthcare.  
 
Harriet provides services to case managers overseeing complex care cases for both adults and children, and regularly writes articles on various nutrition topics, which have been featured in Neurorehab Times and Network Health Digest. Harriet believes everyone has the right to feel empowered about their health choices, and she is passionate about enabling individuals and their families to do so.

Kerry has 22 years clinical experience working with children who have SEND & Autism. Her background is working within Speech & Language Therapy as an assistant practitioner for the NHS. 
 
Kerry has further training in Early Years Sensory & Multiple Needs from Birmingham University and has completed additional studies with organisations such as the National Portage Association, RNIB, Downs Syndrome Association and many more.

Lesley Dodson Rehab Assistant 

 
Lesley is a highly versatile and experienced Rehabilitation Assistant based in South Yorkshire. With a passion for helping people regain their independence, Lesley brings a unique blend of knowledge and expertise from education, healthcare, and leisure. At 52 years old, Lesley has a rich background, including dedicated service as an ex-teaching assistant/assistant SENDCO, where she developed strong paediatric and speech & language skills.

Paula Manton Speech and Language Therapist 

 
Paula is a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist registered with HCPC and RCSLT. She has over 21 years of experience working both in the NHS and in the private sector. Paula worked with children and young people in the NHS for over 16 years working with a range of communication needs and assessing autism primarily in children in the under 5's and LD teams.  
 
Over the last 5 and half years Paula has worked as a clinician and senior leader in neurodevelopmental specialist teams, assessing autism and ADHD in children, young people and adults.

Jacqui Greenwood Occupational Therapist 

 
Jacqui is a highly experienced and professional Occupational Therapist. She has experience of both Health, Social Care and Private settings. Rachel is a highly skilled therapist, holding a caseload of primarily adults, as well as supporting paediatric clients with complex physical and neurological needs. 
 
Rachel has vast experience in providing specialist equipment, housing, and adaptive vehicles, addressing needs and engagement in all aspects of daily living and have extensive experience working within complex dynamics as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

As part of her skill set, she is also an advanced moving and handling practitioner, supporting clients—both adults and children—with providing detailed and robust moving and handling risk assessments and handling plans, providing bespoke training and support to care teams to ensure the moving and handling plan is carried out effectively, supporting each client safely and to their fullest. 
 
Rachel is currently completing her Sensory Integration Education Certificate through Sheffield Hallam University to be able to provide Sensory assessment and recommendations for sensory intervention to support her clients, qualifying in February 2026.

Beth Kay Dietician 

 
Beth is a registered specialist dietitian working within one of Europe’s largest teaching hospitals, primarily caring for adults throughout their acute care and rehabilitation journey across a range of services including brain injury, stroke, neurology, spinal injury, cardiology, major trauma and long-term condition management. She brings a strong blend of clinical expertise and a warm, practical approach to supporting individuals with complex nutritional needs. In Beth’s current role they provide tailored nutrition support across fast-paced acute pathways, working closely with patients, families and professionals to ensure care is both effective and accessible. 
 
Alongside clinical work, Beth has contributed to various service improvement projects, helped refine enteral feeding pathways and client experience, and strengthened dietetic input within multidisciplinary teams. Their collaborative style and confidence in leading MDT discussions ensures that nutrition is fully integrated into wider rehabilitation and recovery plans. Beth is passionate about supporting individuals to feel informed and empowered about their nutritional health, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs, preferences and circumstances. 
 
As an active member of the Yorkshire Branch of the British Dietetic Association, Beth continues to develop her practice through ongoing training and improving access to reputable nutrition advice and support, and in 2024 completed a medical writing internship, enhancing her ability to communicate evidence-based information clearly to a wide range of audiences.

Bethan Boyeson Physiotherapist 

 
Bethan graduated from York St John University with a first class Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy. She specialises in treating patients with a wide range of complex neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, Guillian-Barre Syndrome and Parkinsons.  
 
Bethan has experience of working in inpatient rehabilitation as well as in the community. She provides specialist treatment to patients experiencing difficulties relating to reduced strength, mobility and gait, balance, sensation and proprioception, pain, spasticity and movement disorders. Bethan believes in focusing on specific client-centred goals and reviewing these regularly throughout an individual’s rehabilitation for meaningful progress. She has a BSc (Hons) Psychology and is a level 3 qualified fitness instructor, giving her a deeper understanding of how to motivate and work effectively with different individuals.  
 
Bethan is experienced in working with clients who have goals relating to both physical and cognitive function and takes an holistic therapeutic approach at all times. She is registered with the HCPC and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), Physio First and ACPIN

Harrison Batty Rehab Assistant 

 
Harrison completed BSc Hons Physiotherapy at University of Huddersfield, completing training and practising in a range of specialisms such as paediatric community, geriatric medicine, student-led clinics, orthopaedics, amputee and trauma as well as respiratory. He has a great passion for working with children and providing enhanced care and knowledge through previous experience. Working as a rehab support worker for a complex needs child, has broadened his clinical skills and enhanced hIs knowledge with complex care allowing him to provide excellent therapeutic treatment with a broadened understanding of the specialism alongside evidence-based clinical reasoning. He has worked within the NHS as a physiotherapy assistant in paediatrics reporting to wider MDT. Worked alongside SALT’s, OT’s and Play Therapists. 
 
Harrison has many hobbies outside of work with running as his main hobby and has raised over £7k for cancer research running marathons. 
 
Harrison holds a level 3 First response emergency care qualification which has enabled him to work at large capacity events such as Silverstone F1, Leicester City football club and MotoGP. This allowed him to gain an external qualification away from physiotherapy and work alongside different clinical specialists. Although this role wasn't necessarily physio-based, it allowed him to gain many transferrable skills.

Sue Cassidy is the Director and Owner of UK Case Management Ltd bringing over 25 years of dedicated experience in neurological rehabilitation. As a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) for much of her career, Sue has worked extensively with clients who have acquired brain injuries and a range of other complex neurological conditions. 
With a particular interest in the rehabilitation of clients presenting with challenging behaviours, Sue spent eight years managing a local secure hospital, gaining invaluable leadership and clinical expertise. She has also held senior management roles within one of the UK’s largest case management services, specialising in brain and spinal injury support. 
 
In 2008, Sue founded UK Case Management Ltd with a clear vision: to deliver the highest standards of case management through compassionate, client-focused care. As Director, she oversees both the developmental and operational aspects of the company, ensuring that excellence, integrity, and quality underpin everything UK Case Management provides. Natalie Hodgson is the Registered Manager at UK Case Management bringing over 20 years of experience, in the Health and Social Care industry. 
 
Natalie joined UK Case Management in January 2018 as an Assistant Case Manager and quickly progressed to Service Manager in 2019. In November 2021, she became the Registered Manager when UK Case Management achieved CQC registration, playing a key role in leading the company through this important milestone. 
 
Throughout her career, Natalie has developed extensive knowledge of CQC regulations and requirements, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and client care. She has a deep understanding of the services, equipment, and therapies available to clients across both the private and statutory sectors.
